On Thursday morning, LCSS Jefe, Dr. Moss, announced or rather scheduled an ’emergency’ meeting of the LCBOE. This ’emergency’ meeting was required in order to announce his planned, ’emergency’ Reduction in Force (RIF) proposal for the LCSS staff.
Well, what kind of emergency is planned?! Verified rumor has it that Dr. Moss called for, or rather scheduled this ’emergency meeting at least two days before he formally was appraised of the LC County Manager’s preliminary recommendation for the County’s funding allocation to the LCSS. So, he scheduled an ’emergency’ session before he was aware of a potential crisis? Now what kind of ’emergency’ is scheduled/planned prior to knowing about the subject issue of the ’emergency’? Hmmmmm? So, as it appears to be a planned ’emergency’, how long has Dr. Moss been planning this ’emergency’? Was this a planned confrontation with the LCBOC? Was this another public spectacle staged to pit parents and teachers against their elected officials? Was this one government agency trying to openly ‘blackmail’ another elected body in the court of public opinion?
This leaves a reasonable thinker to wonder if this wasn’t Dr. Moss’ plan all along, to reduce his staff, and blame the LCBOC and to preserve his ‘showcase’ technology initiatives. If so, has Dr. Moss put his bells, whistles, toys, and resume chits, ahead of the very people he was hired to lead, support, and protect, meaning, his staff, his teachers, and of greatest import, his students? Maybe the subject of Dr. Moss’ ’emergency’ meeting should be why Moss isn’t fired for dereliction of duty, and the misplaced trust of the LCBOE? But, then again, that would imply that the LCBOE wasn’t part of the planned ’emergency’?
